A ball bearing is a rolling bearing and usually consists of an inner and outer ring. One or two rows of balls sit in between these rings. A ball bearing ensures that the friction of a rotational movement is reduced due to the rotation of the balls. Ball bearings have a simple design, they are suitable for high and even very high speeds, they are robust and require little maintenance. Ball bearings come in different versions, namely: deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, thrust ball bearings, miniature bearings and precision ball bearings. The material used to produce ball bearings is extremely diverse. For example, there are ceramic ball bearings, stainless steel ball bearings and even plastic ball bearings. A ball bearing is suitable for a very wide range of applications in almost all industries.
