LED torch PX0
ATEX torches
In potentially explosive areas appropriately protected lamps must be used in order not to trigger an explosion, for example, from the spark when turning on the lamp.
Therefore the ATEX directives define the following zones:
Zone 2: areas where there is rarely and briefly
a risk of explosion.
Zone 1: areas, in which there is occasionally a risk of
explosion.
Zone 0: areas, in which there is a constant or frequent risk
of explosion over a longer period.
On each torch there should be a code, which provides information about the application area:
II Devices in group II may not be used in mining.
1,2,3 Specifies the category, this corresponds to the zone +1.
G,D Suitable for gases/vapours (G) or dust (D).
Ex For use in potentially explosive areas.
ia,ib Protection class intrinsic safety.
IIx Gas group (IIA = propane, IIB = ethylene, IIC = acetylene/hydrogen).
IIIx Dust group (IIIA = combustible suspended matter, IIIB = no conductive dust, IIIA = conductive dust).
Tx Temperature class, specifies the maximum allowable surface temperature. (T6 = 85 °C, T5 = 100 °C, T4 = 135 °C, T3 = 200 °C, T2 = 300 °C, T1 = 450 °C)
Design: certified gas-, dust- and waterproof safety lamp made of highly resilient and impact-resistant XAG plastic, conductive at high impedance. Additional protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). The rubberised rear switch for single-hand operation is hermetically sealed against the penetration of water and dust. Optimal illumination at close range and distances up to 150 m. There is also protection against short circuit, the batteries can be inserted regardless of their polarity. ATEX Zone 0, certified, II 1G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, II 2D Ex ib IIIC T 105°C Db, working temperature –20 °C to +40 °C. Supplied with 4 Mignon batteries AA/LR06.
Note: compatible with popular headbands.
